Korean Kimchi Diet Ramen: How to!

Okay folks I'm bored and when I'm bored I apparently want to make a cooking how-to for the special Korean Kimchi Diet Ramen, family Park style. After this, your Korean ramen will never taste like crap again! ;D Let's get started shall we?

Alrighty, first of all you'll need a bag of Korean Ramen. The Jin Ramen is recommended, mild flavour. Like this one.

Now break the Ramen in two, the contents still inside the bag(we don't wanna make a mess!).

Good, now let's look at what we all need? Time to check our gear! Noodles, two ramen spices, 1 egg, Kimchi and some sliced pieces of ham.

Now get your water boiler, for you need to boil some additional water. Why? This is for the "diet" part, which I'll explain later. Put in some water, and let it boil.

Now time for some cooking. Take a pot, not a shitty pot like this which is in fact not meant for cooking something at all. And pour some water in it, let it boil. Then put in the pieces of noodles into it.

Poking the package of hard noodles is perfectly fine. Let it cook for a minute, not too long, it should be half cooked still.

Now comes the part where the diet-part is coming into action. Pour the steamy and oily water out of the pot and temporally transfer your noodles into a bowl of cold water. Like this,

To cool off and cold water gives the ramen a distinct.. taste. Feel in the mouth? Anyway..

Remember your water boiler? The water is already boiling and done by now. Pour some fresh hot water into the empty pot.

When the water in the pot starts to boil, the noodles in the bowl with cold water can go back into the pot again.

And then it's time to add the dried vegetables from the little package! Stir it all up.

Now we have that done, add the red spice from the package to the soup.

Crack an egg, let it join the merry soup.

After that, the pieces of ham go in.

And last but not least: KIMCHI!

Let it all cook for a minute or two, and then TADA! Your own Korean Kimchi Diet Ramen is ready!

For the lovers of cooking here, you can also put additional onion and leek into it. Then it tastes even better but I'm a lazy bum so I don't go that far. These tips are strictly for Korean ramen only(they're usually quite spicy and go well with all the named ingredients up there). I have no idea how kimchi will taste with Chinese ramen.. Dx

Anyway, have fun and enjoy your ramen~~ Even though I have the idea nobody knows where to get Korean ramen. Or Kimchi. Ah whatever. xD

Hm, nothing special no. I was bored and I thought before I wrote this "if there were a case of cafeine poisoning, I'd have it right now". That thought was my inspiration for this little pathetic verse(yesyes but see how I tried to incorporate my desperation in it as well, because I still have to do tons of maths). :P

To a friend lost
I listened to a song on my mp3 player. "You never know what you have until it's gone.." they sang. And so it is with friendships, I thought. Yet sometimes, they can fade away so silently, so smoothly, so perfectly. Without so much of a word, like it never existed at all. And when we cross eachother in the school corridors, cinema or on the streets, we pass. . . as if seeing a ghost of something that was, and no longer is. So we fade in perfection. And I shall save my tears for another bitter time, as I reckon, you will save yours.

-sigh- At the library at the moment. Tres bored. Next week is testweek so I'll be stuck here for the rest of the week I suppose. Maths is not going slowly, boring boring. I still have 4 other chapters to go. xx; I must say there are lots of scary people at the public library, lotsa tramps who are also bored and sometimes sleep on the couches. Meh meh. Oops. Today I came come and watched t.v but then I fell asleep on the couch and dragged myself to my bed after a while. And before I knew it, I woke up when my mom creaked open my door and peeked through it. It was at midnight. Nice, so now I can't go back to sleep, it's almost 2 AM. Anyway, it's been quite a tiring week. -rubs eyes- And is it just me, or does it get harder to crawl out of bed when it's still dark outside? When's summertime ending? I want my extra hour of sleep, or atleast wake up when tnhere's a little bit of light shining outside my window.

Alright, I'm going to practice yoga everyday for 40 minutes! I have downloaded this instruction video and it felt pretty effective when I tried it out today. :D Because I really need to go on sporting, ugh. Atleast this'll be something. I also want to get on Taekwondo lessons, since I really enjoyed those I got at the Korean school. Kuk-- kii-- taee-- kwon-- doo---! HYAA--!! Or archery. Archery is so cool. Korean people are good at it. o__o :P But that's not much of an active sport really. I need to move.

Bleh today is total boringness. I might as well go work on my new scrapbook. :) Yep, I'm making one now. Just finished the cover and it took a long time. It's fun though, you should try it too if you need a creative outlet.

Things I got from Paris.. <3

I love my pillow. Aaah Nemo pillow. It was so cute, it was just staring at me from the shelves screaming, "BUY MEEEE! BUY MEEE!! BUY MEE GODDAMMIT!".
Oh and that is also the t-shirt Anja and Rianne also have. <3 :D The mug was meant for my sis but she decided to steal my pretty earrings instead which you can't see on this picture because she took them to Delft. Few tickets, from Eiffel tower, Disneyland, metro and so forth. French Vogue, nice pictures, no idea what's all written in it and two of those touristic coins. :)
Oh and that's the picture of my metro-ticket. I had no photo of myself, so I had to cut my head out from a bigger picture.

I'm back! Tired. Really tired. Had a greeat week though. So many things have happened, so many things seen and done. Too much for me right now. I just dragged my bag into the house. Right, yes and first thing I do is update my LJ right? Haha, well whatever I'm back and I'll have a very long entry about my week tomorrow. It was so much fun! But right now I'm going to give myself the pleasure of a luxuriously long bath, some t.v. watching and a good long night rest. Seriously, I think we've only slept like 5~6 hours every night. Oh and I'm home alone too. I was called up by my sis in the train when she told me she'd be just gone out of the house meeting a friend when I would be coming home. So, where is my welcome home party eh?

Another two days and I'll be saying bye-bye to this little country and head for Paris! I just can't wait, I'm already so eager to be gone. But first I must still wash a lot of my clothes, iron and pack etc. Bleh.
Yesterday and today was a Paris-meeting, we all gathered to discuss about the trip but it was more of a excuse just to hang around and in the end we haven't even talked so much about the trip either. We just watched movies and talked and stayed up late. I saw "Rainman" and "American Beauty". I loved Rainman, it was so sad and really moving. It's about a success seeking, irritable youngman who finds after the death of his father about the existence of his other autistic brother. The father left the autistic brother all of his money, 3 million dollars, and the youngman gets angry and then kidnaps his brother and asks the 3 million in return. When the two brothers travel together they get closer and the young brother eventually learns to love his autistic brother. The ending is a secret. :D
American Beauty is pretty weird. Not exactly a movie I want to see another time but it did portray the problems of American society and life in general etc. quite well. It was more like watching Desperate Housewives gone psychotic. There's no apparant storyline, it shows the lives of certain people of a community and how they cope with their problems. They were both, all in all, good movies. :)

Omg yesterday, I read some of my sisters yaoi mangas and some of them were actually pretty good. I am not really a yaoi perv personally but eh well, it's interesting, sometimes even cute. :p Most of the yaoi mangas are serious crap though.

Oh oh.. Should I study Oriental Medicines(한의학) or English Literature? (Korean) Oriental Medicines, or English literature...? Oriental medicine or...

.....

I did manage to decided that I'd rather study English Literature than Photography. But I can't decide yet on OM and EL. The good side of OM is that I get to learn all the neat stuff I wanted to; history, chinese characters, cool herbal stuff, neeeeeeedle..uh..acupuncture, massage techniques etc. But the bad side is that I'll most likely have to study it in Korea do I want to get a reasonable study out of it. That's bad, I think. I don't know if I can survive in that suffocating inviroment after living for 17 years in the Netherlands. And my Korean sucks too. Well I can make myself understandable both in speech and written words but.. you know, you have to know lots of those chinese-based difficult words for Oriental Medicine and right now my knowledge of that is like 0,3% of the avarage aspiring student in Oriental Medicine. I think. -cough-
And English Literature.. ahh... I'm planning to go to England if I'd choose that. :D England.. Well I've been wanting to do this for quite a few years you know. Living in England and studying there seems amazing to me. But then again, wtf can you do with a degree in English Literature?! Oh yay I can become a professor or teach some pesky little brats in highschool. Ahah, no way. Or I can like.. get boring office work. :/ Mmm, no good job prospects with that. Well on the other hand, I could become just about everything on the area of office/business/international work with an English degree. -sigh-
I don't knooow. I am already reading lots of English books, I can speak and write English almost fluently. What are they going to teach me more? How to translate Anglo-Saxon into modern English(you can actually choose that kinda stuff..)? ;___;

I don't know but somehow, Oriental Medicines seems a lot more appealing to me right now. Heh. I'll be like the great masters, Hajun and Dae Jang Geum puahahahahaha!! ..... Ahhh whyy iss itt sooo haaarrdddd??!?!!!?!?! God but the prospect of living in Korea just terrifies me. Korean people, born and bred there sortof scare me. I don't know. They're all gonna look at me and gonna say(behind my back), "Omg she's so wiieerd she acts like a foreigner." AAAAAHHH!! Plus all those tedious, TIRESOME rules of the Korean society eeergh. I think it's already horrible with the Dutch Korean society, how the hell is it going to be there eh?! Oh weep. Weepweepweep.

But, before I get too angsty. I don't know if I even have the requirements for OM. I'm not really learning biology now and not doing exams in it. :/ But who knows, the system over there is entirely different. For students who have lived in a foreign country of a minimum of around 3 years? can get this special exam. It's way easier to pass for foreign students they say, it's unfair yes but meh, you don't expect me to know 2000 chinese characters now do you? o__o

Anyway, sometimes just thinking about stuff like this scare me. So many possibilities, so many ways for us to walk the future! :D I was talking to my friend the other day and she was all hyped up about helping Africa and stuff. She's planning to become a doctor and you know, becoming an elite and all. And I don't know, it seemed so fake to me. Like when everytime she enthusiastically tells me she's reading this book and after a year, she still hasn't finished it yet. Everybody wants to help right? There was once a time when I wanted to volunteer for work in Africa and stuff but my parents sortof beated the idea out of me, like the idea of traveling around the world/roadtrip after highschool graduation. -cough- But not everybody can help like that, she made is sound as if people were monsters if they didn't or more of lower worth. Well I happen to know her really well after being friends with her for more than 6 years, and she's turned into a total elitist since a few years. Thanks to her father. And that's why sometimes I think her fierce ideals are not coming from herself, but something more created, forced into her so she can be "good". So I was wondering the other day what truly is the good way of living? It's good that you help people in need, but are you still just and good with such articifially created sense of justice? I don't know how to put it in words.. I just wish her ideals were more sincere. She used to be a sweet openminded girl but lately her world seems to shrink and it worries me.

Ahw, I finished Daughter of the Forest of the Sevenwaters series and I absolutely loved it. >_< You know the story of the swan maiden who had 12 brothers turned into swans and she had to reverse the spell by making 12 shirts of thorn bush while not being allowed to speak? It's that story altered and well.. rewritten sortof. Loved the beginning, the middle and the only slight I could find was the ending. It's not really a slight but I just don't like the way the writer messed up with all the remaining brothers. ;__; Poor Finbar. I liked him most out of the 6 brothers. Anyway, great book, great characters so try it I say.

Having that said.. Tomorrow is my eldest sister's birthday and I haven't gotten anything for her! :( Not that I have money to buy anything for her.. (You know, business is still not running smoothly for our family) Haha how she ranted(half jokingly) about wanting an Ipod Nano. -_- Those things are expensive. But really pretty. I'd want a black one, if I'd want one, but I don't. Anyway, that's not happening for her I'm afraid.

Aah I'm so tired. I've been golfing for 5 days straight or something now. :/ My poor back, it's really killing me. I am making improvement though. :D Anyway I'm going. Bored and I think I'll watch some Korean dramas for a change.

Heya people~ :) Soo today I went to school and I got my results back from my testweek and they were surprisingly all good! Except for Latin(ofcourse) but I'm going to take that one again this friday. Ahahah I aced history, I got a 9,6! xD

AHAHA, mom is gone now. Away for a week and a half~~!! Hellz yeah! Anyway, so Anja is coming over on friday and stays for a few days since my sister also leaves on friday for a week and I'll be all home alone~ I'll also invite some more people one day. So I'm expecting to have a blast of a week next week. :) And I'll have to cook for myself(with Anja). o__o -gasp- I'm probably the worst cook ever. Once I tried making nassi rice thing..? And it was sooo disgusting! Don't know how I'll survive next week. Ha..haha..

Well yesterday I also went to the forest with my sis(and cello) and we walked for almost two hours! >_< It was so lovely! There was a part in the forest where the trees were just immense and there were no twigs or other crap around the trees..and wow.. it felt so big and it was so beautiful. Anyway we walked something around 3 km in total. :D Oh and they say, if you walk around for 30 minutes straight everyday you'll lose 8kg in one month! o__o Now that's perhaps something I have to do. Seriously people nowadays just don't walk so much anymore. We're so lazy~! >_< I'm also planning on jogging every morning again in the holidays.. but I will probably not keep it up for long. -_-

Aahh it's wednesday. Right? ..Yeah it is. Okay well, two days to go yet before the testweek is over! Mmm, right now things are going okay.. though I think I pretty much screwed up on philosophy. :/ But it seems that I guessed most things right, hearing from other people.. Oh and I got an 8/10 for my "What is truth?" essay! :D Yaay~ Oh and thanks for the people who helped me out last time.
So, today I spent most of my time trying to find a comfortable position to read my studybook in the park with anniya_p. I can't really say (that an attempt to) studying in a park lying on soft cushy grass on a nice warm sunny day really stimulates the will for intellectual progress.. or.. whatever. It was really nice, though now I have to do so much study yet for tomorrow's exam. AAAH and I have an oral tomorrow, must prepare. -sigh- I'm so not going to sleep early tonight.

EDIT: OMG I'm still on LJ and still procrastinating and now it's 10 PM. Aah, I must be insane. I'm going now, really really.

Yay it's a music frenzy over here again! I've downloaded probably over 100 songs today. o__o I have no idea how I'm going to listen to all of them though. xx; Oh and many <3s to fst and kpop_uploads and all contributors over there. :D

Ohh I think I have an idea for my arts project. Well, the theme is Utopia.. so.. I'm planning of drawing my best childhood memory. :D I'm not going to tell you anything more because I have this supersticious belief that once I tell people about.. art and well - things, that I don't want to make it anymore. :P

So Korea's playing again tonight.. uhm, in 30 minutes. xD This time it's against Switzerland. We need to either win or even out the match otherwise we're out of the competition! ;__; But Australia is going to the 2nd round! Yay for mr. Hiddink. -fangirls- 8D
